Outburst was a hit!

We had 40 people at our shower. We divided the room into three groups. No one had to move from their comfy spot. The Mom-To-Be was the card holder. She told the groups their category and crossed off their responses. This way she was in charge. It was fun and everyone was involved. The categories were great. We had Bath and Body Works lotions for prizes. It was a hit.
OK but could be improved

I LOVE the game Outburst and thought this would be a great baby shower game. Many of the cards worked but some of them could really use some updating and revision. Please try to revise this as it can really be a great game.
It was a fun time

But the answers in Baby Outburst were a little outdated. The players were shouting out answers that are more to date. I couldn't give them credit for them. overall the teams had a great time.
We thought this was too difficult for the larger group we had.

WE thought this was too hard and a little outdated to play it.A re-make of the game's answers would be in store to make it work.
Great game, needs adapting though

The concept of this game is simple and fun. Unfortunately my printer wasn't working so I couldn't print out the cards which didn't really matter as when I read the examples they weren't great (some were quite US-centric in language and some were a bit out-dated). I made my own cards up and used only 6 examples instead of the 10 as it's quite a few to get right. For 'prizes' I got those that were already mums to provide a snippet of advice for the mum-to-be which worked really well!
Great Game!

Some guests loved it but I only did 2 rounds because I felt I was losing the attention of some of my guests. But I enjoyed it and it was something different than measuring toilet paper around mom to be! Great ice breaker!
Good Game

This was fun and everyone seemed to enjoy it. The only drawback was that someone of the answers were a little out of date.

This game was a big hit with our group. I wasn't sure how it would go over, but they loved it and we ended up going 3 rounds for each team because they wanted to keep going.
Got everyone involved

The shower was for my daughter and she became the MC for the game. It was nice, everyone at the party participated and had direct contact with her. We did it a bit differently, each table drew a card and had 20 seconds to name the items. At the end, the guests at the table with the most items named each won a prize.
This was a great Game

The game was definitely a hit. The guests had a great time. The only thing that was not as I was expecting was the way that it printed out. I was expecting one card per sheet and I was expecting the stars to be on there too, but instead there were 4 small cards that print out on each page and the stars don't show up. In the grand scheme it wasn't a big deal but I think next time I would rather make up my own cards. Our group wasn't extremely big but how we narrowed it down was we first broke the guests into two groups and the winner of that round was then broken into two groups and it was the people of that winning group that wound up being the winners which was only 3 people.
Not so great.

Ya know, I thought this game was going to be such a hit! All the reviews for it were great, and I loved the idea. However, most of the ladies at the shower were bored with it. The game comes with like six or seven rounds, when you have a smaller amount of people. We had around 30 guests, so I split them into about five groups of six. With that many rounds, the game would have lasted like 30-45 mins. But, only maybe one or two people in each group really played. Everybody else was bored and really just wanted the game to be over. So we only played maybe three to four rounds. And, I kind of had to force feed that much. I was really disappointed, as I put a lot of time and effort into making the shower fun, but they just weren't feeling this game. :( Those who actually played said it was fun, and I would have thought it was fun, had I not felt like I was wasting everyone's time, but most people did not enjoy it. How sad.
A little dissapointed

I divided the group into two teams. One team yelled out while the other was trying to guess answers. They were having fun but I gave up after a few rounds. Too much attention span was needed for a large group
Great fun! Awesome icebreaker for a large group

As many showers are, our group was made up of some folks that knew each other, but many that didn't... so this game was a great icebreaker. It was the 2nd game we played (after the "Guess how round the mom-to-be's tummy is") and it was great to get everyone involved and yelling out answers. People really got into it. This shower was co-ed, so even the guys enjoyed playing it!
Great Ice Breaker, just for fun or prizes!

We had each table be a team, letting one person draw out a card and hand it back. They really got into it, the other tables were intent on hearing the answers and how their competition did. Only one table got all the answers right. We handed out scratch off lottery tickets for their "Prize".
So much fun!

We had a lot of fun with this game. There was a good mix of easy answers mixed with more difficult, make you think, items.

The ladies at the shower really "got into" Baby Outburst. Interestingly a 5th grade boy and 2nd grade girl came along to the shower. They stopped reading their books and joined in the fun playing Baby Outburst.
Best Baby Shower Game Ever!

This was a great interactive game. There are so many baby shower games where you're just writing stuff down, and everything is quiet. "Baby Outburst" is the game to have when you want some excitement at your party, and it's the perfect way to have guests mingle especially ones that don't know each other.
Good warmer-upper game

This was a great game for the couples shower that we played. Everyone had a great time, although some questioned the answers to some of the categories.

Rules of Play

Take turns and play in teams, keeping a running total of correct answers, or play as a group for a fun ice-breaker with no winners.

Teams are not allowed to use the same category cards. The host reads the category name, and the first team has 60 seconds to shout out as many answers as they can. The host keeps score of the number correct. Then the host picks a different category for the second team, again keeping track of the number correct. Each team takes turns until all the categories are done.
